Chiropody

A chiropodist is a foot specialist who assesses and treats the disorders and dysfunctions of the feet.  A chiropodist will do a biomechanical exam of the foot and lower limb, assess gait and footwear, and may prescribe orthotics if necessary.

Some of the common foot and lower limb complaints that may be seen at the Nepean Sports Medicine & Physiotherapy Centre include plantar faciitis, heel pain, bunions, metatarsalgia, Morton’s Neuroma, flat feet, shin splints, Patella Femoral pain syndrome and Achilles tendinitis.

Chiropody service is not covered by OHIP, but is covered by most Extended Health care plans and a physician’s referral is not necessary.
